Sponsorship of Equine Assisted Therapy Program – Fundación Carriegos
By the means of an agreement between Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Fundación Carriegos, in León, a Horse Assisted Therapy Program was conducted for the benefit of children suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The effectiveness of the program relies on the general training of motor and communication skills, with the assistance and advice of a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, physiotherapists, pedagogues, and riding instructors.
Thanks to this sponsorship, during the months from October to December 2015, 7 children benefited from 11 therapeutic sessions each, during which they developed their communications skill, worked on their social competencies and group integration, and improved their motor abilities.
Creating the opportunities to access Equestrian Therapies through financial sponsorship of both participants and institutions that conduct activities and programs for the benefit of people with intellectual or physical disadvantages, is one of the main goals of Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre.
