Educational Conference on “Introduction to Equine Therapy” – Mas Aragó Riding Centre
The seventh cooperation agreement between Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Mas Aragó Riding Centre, in Tarragona, was signed in order to conduct the Educational Conference on “Introduction to Equine Therapy”.
On May 20th, 24th, and June 7th, the I Educational Conference on “Introduction to Equine Therapy” was conducted in Más Aragó for youths aged 16 to 24 enrolled in different vocational education courses related to functional diversity issues: care assistants and support workers, and occupational therapy support workers.
The objective of this Conference was to give the young students an overall perspective of the benefits that horse assisted therapies have for different target groups (intellectual diversity, mental health, children and youths at risk of social exclusion), with a total participation of 27 students who could assess those benefits from both a theoretical and practical point of view.
With this collaboration, Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre shows its interest on introducing the basis of Equestrian Therapies in social-oriented education and training, so the new professional profiles know and trust these tools as an alternative treatment method.
