The III International Equine Podiatry Congress for Farriers and Veterinarians, organized by Association of Veterinarians and Farriers of Barcelona, had the support of the Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport through the cooperation agreement signed between the two entities.

 
This Congress was hold on May  19^th, 20^th and 21^st 2016 in the Parador of Segovia attended by a total of 290 people, including speakers and participants.
 14 leading figures of recognized international prestige in this specialty (Stefan Wehrli, Scott Morrison, Michael Schramme, Monique Craig, Rob Renirie, Sebastian Caure, Denis Leveillard, Loic Entwistle, Ricard Rosello, Hans Castelijns, Jan Krogh, Andreas Hundsmann, Ruben Lafuente and Eugenio Cillán) attended as speakers; while participants were veterinarians and farriers.
Its programming was based on addressing the specialty of equine podiatry with lectures, practical demonstrations and «how to» sessions.

 
The contribution to improving the health and performance of horses is also one of the main focuses of action of the Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport, supporting initiatives like this Congress involving the disclosure of knowledge and experiences among professionals with a view to the progression in specialized equine care.
