Adapted riding for people with ASD and Occupational therapy in the equestrian context – EquiTEA  

The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport and EquiTEA, Inclusive School of Equestrian activities in Sevilla, signed an agreement for the third consecutive year, consisting in the donation of adapted equestrian material to carry out an adapted riding  program for people with ASD and occupational therapy in the equestrian context.

A total of 18 children from 3 schools of the area, plus about 70 other users who come to receive therapy have been benefitted by this donation.

The therapeutic programs are aimed, inter alia, to encourage self-fulfillment and well-being through a structured and successful learning experiences by fully development of all the capabilities of the student; to encourage the establishment and generalization by applying them learning the other activities of daily living; and to raise awareness and educate socially for the  inclusion and acceptance without attending to the differences, favoring the use of the necessary support to promote the autonomy and welfare of each individual.

With this contribution, the Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sports continues working for people affected by various pathologies,  so that they can use new material in their therapies with horses which allows them to improve the quality and safety of the sessions they do.
