Course on Functional Diversity for Volunteers and Staff – Asociación Unicornio Azul
Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Asociación Unicornio Azul, which runs several care centres in Guadalajara and one in Madrid, have settled, for the third year in a row, a cooperation agreement to develop a Training Program on Intellectual/Functional Diversity oriented to the association’s volunteers and staff.
The aim of this course was to provide Asociación Unicornio Azul volunteers and staff with a general knowledge base on Autism Spectrum Disorders and Down syndrome, to support further training programs on equine therapy interventions.
8 volunteers and 1 technician were involved in tailored to the person educational programs, ranging from one day to 6 months theoretical and practical training.
This new cooperation agreement reinforces the line of support Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre has being giving throughout many years to continuous education actions on equestrian therapy techniques and on the target groups that can benefit from them.
