Donation of adapted riding equipment – APPC Tarragona
Associació Provincial de Paràlisi Cerebral de Tarragona (APPC) and Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre have signed their 6th agreement, to back the donation of new adapted riding equipment.
For the last ten years they have been doing hippotherapy as part of the psychomotor, educational and leisure work they do with children suffering from cerebral palsy from La Muntanyeta Special Education School, which currently has14 students enlisted in the program.
The new equipment will be used all around the year, except the summer months, in therapeutic riding sessions and other activities, like horse care and grooming, to foster contact with horses and social interaction. The children participate in these sessions every other week, for 20 to 30 minutes.
Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre provides institutions like APPC with new equipment necessary to attend the special needs of all and every participant so they can reach their therapeutic goals. In this case, adapted equipment is especially relevant since all the therapeutic work is done on horse.
