National “Equine Assisted Therapy and Horse Assisted Interventions” Technical and Professional Meeting – Fundación para el Desarrollo de las Terapias Ecuestres (Foundation for the Development of Equine Assisted Therapies)
Fundación para el Desarrollo de las Terapias Ecuestres, based in Écija (Seville), and Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre worked on a joint venture to celebrate a National Meeting of professionals and institutions that conduct Horse Assisted Therapies and Interventions (Spanish acronym, ITAC).
The purpose of this meeting is to share working experiences, offering new perspectives, encouraging discussion, insight and consensus to reach agreements to support a Manifesto. This Manifesto could be the basis of a future proposed law to regulate the practice of Equine Therapies and Horse Assisted Interventions.
The meeting took place at the Francisco Maldonado University School, of the University of Seville, on the 27th and 28th of June, 2015, with 46 participants of different professional profiles.
With this cooperation, Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre contributes to the blending of the joint efforts of all professionals within the equestrian field to set up new adapted therapy programs and assisted interventions, and take steps towards professional practise regulation.
