Jumping Clinic delivered by Luis Álvarez Cervera in Sotogrande
Over last 8th, 9th and 10th April the I Clinic of Obstacle Jumping was held in the facilities of Sotogrande Hípica of Cádiz, delivered by Olympic rider Luis Álvarez Cervera, with sponsorship by the Foundation to Promote Equestrian Sports and collaboration from the Andalusian Horse-Riding Federation.
The Clinic, intended for young riders aged 14-21 who regularly take part in assessments within this discipline, was attended by 21 riders, divided by age and level into 5 different groups.
With lessons beginning and 3:00 p.m. and ending at 9.30 p.m. of Friday 8th, the participants worked on flat tracks and laboratories in order to check their level and organize the work groups. At the end of the lessons, the trail for the following day’s work was arranged under the direction of Luis Álvarez Cervera.
On Saturday, riders performed different obstacle control exercises, after warming-up on the flat floor, ending with trails at different heights.
The groups had the chance to take part in a discussion over lunch, where they could talk to Luis Álvarez Cervera and solve any doubts arising during the exercises.
On the last day of the course, riders took a new trail with greater heights in order to confirm their knowledge acquired over the previous day and observe the strong and weak points of each one, so as to enhance the first and improve the second.
The Foundation to Promote Equestrian Sports focuses a significant part of its work on the continuous training of the new generations, as it believes it is the best way to make progress in the horse-riding world.
