Horse Assisted Therapy – ASPACE BALEARES
Fort he third year in a row Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and the Cerebral Palsy Association ASPACE) of Baleares, have set an agreement to cooperate on a horse-assisted therapy project.
Implemented with the main objective of improving quality of life, the horse-assisted therapy service benefited, during school year 2015, a total of 38 users, aged from 4 to 45.
Also, other activities were conducted during school hours, such as the first para-equestrian riding group and intensive workshops on horse grooming and care. The activities, held at the day-care centre “Es Siurell” and at the Special Needs Education School Pinyol Vermell, benefited 45 users aged from 21 to 55 in the first case, and a group of 20 students aged 12 to 18 in the second.
Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre, through this cooperation, keeps showing its interest in supporting organizations that conduct horse-assisted therapies, because of their benefits to, in this particular case, people with cerebral palsy.
