Donation of Adapted Material – Abaqur Association
Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre has signed an agreement with Abaqur to provide the association with adapted equestrian material in 2015. This Madrid based association works for the promotion of equestrian activities among people with disabilities, with therapeutic as sportive, work, and social integration purposes.
This year Abaqur has developed the “Kiseki Project” (“miracle” in Japanese), a program for the promotion and development of sports riding for people with physical, sensitive or intellectual disadvantages, which took place at Yeguada el Palancar, in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid).
57 children, youths and women, with Autism Spectrum Disorders, intellectual and/or physical disadvantages, participated in the program, distributed in groups according to their competencies and skill. 22 students at Carmen Pardo Valcarce Foundation, and 13 pupils of the Down Syndrome Foundation, have also benefited sporadically from the use of this material.
With this cooperation agreement, Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre contributes to improve the experience of a broad number of horse assisted therapy users, meeting their different demands and conferring security and efficiency to the activities conducted in the centre.
