Adapted Equestrian Material – Francisco González Equestrian Center
The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport supports, the horse therapy program developed by the Francisco González Equestrian Center located in Mérida, for the first time. The collaboration of our Foundation translates into equestrian material adapted to improve the sessions.
With this contribution, the Francisco González Equestrian Center has reinforced the program of therapies they have been carrying out for the last 4 years, with an average number of 10 permanent students, all of whom have physical, mental, sensory, psychological and behavioral disabilities.
In some cases, the center can alternate the therapy sessions with therapeutic riding classes in which the child directs the action of his horse and makes little exercises, reinforcing the benefits of the therapy, providing greater self-esteem and self-confidence.
Note that this material has also impacted on improving the level of the Para-equestrian rider of the center, Extremadura champion for the past 3 years, as well as other outstanding students who have been able to achieve the level of competition.
With this contribution, The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport facilitates the access to the equestrian therapies with horses for children and adults in the area of Extremadura, thus continuing its work of spreading this activity.
