Therapies for People with Autism: Nuevo Horizonte Association
The Foundation to Promote Equestrian Sports collaborated for the first time with the Nuevo Horizonte Association, in a therapy program aimed at autistic children.
The program, implemented in the facilities of the Association in Las Rozas (Madrid), has benefited 8 users of Nuevo Horizonte. On a weekly basis and for 90 minutes, the goal of the therapy focuses on the physical and cognitive development of each user.
The sessions were developed by including routines, motor and cognitive activities with very specific goals, with relationship, management and riding of horses. In addition, there were plastic art expression activities in connection with horses, in order to enhance the benefits.
With this contribution, the Foundation to Promote Equestrian Sports reaffirms its founding values and principles, offering the benefits that horse routines may provide to people with physical, mental or social disabilities.
