The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sports collaborated with the University of Santiago de Compostela in the organization of the Second Conference on Natural Horsemanship, which took place at the Faculty of Veterinary in Lugo on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November 2012.
The conference had a total of 128 attendees, who received a diploma of participation.
The theoretical part of the conference was held at the Faculty of Veterinary of Lugo, while practices were held at the Rof Codina Veterinary Hospital.
The Conferences, intended for veterinary students, veterinarians, professional and amateur horseman, offered the expertise and knowledge of the following speakers:

  • Marco Barba
  • Coby Bolger
  • Delia Daniel
  • Gerd Heuschmann
  • Felipe Lleras
  • Lucy Rees
  • Víctor Ros
  • Constantino Sánchez
  • Talía Soldevila
  • Vanesa Ugarte

All the conference sought to explain the meaning of the Natural Horsemanship, according to the National Association of Natural Horsemanship (ANDN): a way to understand and interact with the horse, rather than a different form of dressage. It is based on the study of the horse itself, from different scientific bases, before deciding what to do with the animal. Thus, the goal is to maintain, manage and tame the animal making easy for him to understand, acquiring then their voluntary cooperation.
