I Equine physiotherapy Workshop – Equidinamia
The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport collaborated in the organisation of 1 Day of Equine Physiotherapy, which took place on the 22nd June at the Virgen de las Nieves Veterinary Hospital in Fuente el Saz, Madrid.
EQUIDINAMIA – Equine Physiotherapy managed the organisation of this day, counting upon the attendance of 17 pupils, amongst them riders, aficionados from the horse world, professionals, vets and veterinary students.
The day started at 10am, given by the equine physiotherapist Dr. Mar de Echevarría Ruiz-Oriol and Dr. Marta García Piqueres, veterinary specialist in equine rehabilitation.
They dealt with the following themes theoretically:
- Introduction to Equine Physiotherapy
- The equine athlete versus the human sportsman
- Injury prevention in Sport horses
- Correct saddle fitting on the horse
- Clinical Cases
Demonstrations focussed on assessing the fit of the saddle to the horses back (comparing several saddles on the same horse) and how to stretch the back, neck and other related muscles.
The day ended with the presentation of the certificates to the assistants.
