Equine Assisted Intervention program – Centro Nazareno de Terapias Ecuestres La Herradura

Between Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Centro Nazareno de Terapias Ecuestres La Herradura S. Coop. And., from Dos Hermanas (Sevilla), has been established the ninth agreement to collaborate with its Equine Assisted Intervention program for people with Rare Diseases.

A group of ten people with rare diseases were the beneficiaries of the Interventions program with adapted plans to the characteristics and needs of each user, attending to the center once a week for one hour.
The development of the sessions was based on two parts: riding, and foot-to-ground activities in which the participants enjoyed the contact with the horse and carried out care and hygiene tasks.

Four little brothers of the beneficiaries who did not present any special needs have also been able to participate in the project.

Both Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Centro Nazareno de Terapias Ecuestres La Herradura have shared the objective with this program of contributing to improving the life quality of their beneficiaries in all areas of their development, promoting their autonomy and offering them learnings that are generalizable to the different contexts where they take place.
