For the fourth consecutive year, the Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport and the Asociación Parálisis Cerebral Baleares (Baleares Cerebral Palsy Association) have signed a cooperation agreement to donate adapted riding equipment for their Horse Assisted Therapy Program.

The main goal of ASPACE’s Horse Assisted Therapies Program was to satisfy the needs and interests of the associates, according to their capacities, dealing with different ways of working with horses, from a Care Workshop, fence management, assisted therapy sessions, or para-equestrian competitions. As a result, a total of 126 people, many of them members of the association, but also people attending the Day Care Centre, the Nursing Home, or the Special Needs Education School, could attend workshops on equestrian therapies, pre-competition activities in paraequestrian riding, and on horse handling, grooming and care.

With the equipment donated by The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport its been possible to start up a project which is gradually consolidating and making possible that many people with functional diversity have seen improved their quality of life and can benefit from horses.
