The Seahorse (Caballito de Mar) Project, carried out at the META Equestrian Center, has as objectives to support the D’Genes Association of Rare Diseases from Totana, and to introduce horse-assisted therapies as a resource to improve the quality of life and life expectancy of children suffering from rare diseases and other neurological diseases, psychomotor disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Hyperactivity, Intellectual Diversity, Specific Language Disorders, etc.
The recipients of this project were 10 children who attended 60 equine therapy sessions (with 2 participants per session), during May and June, for a total of 6 weeks.
With the excellent results obtained at psychomotor, cognitive and emotional levels, and the strong motivation of the children involved, who along with their families demanded the continuity of the project, Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre sees fulfilled its objectives and expectations for the program.
