“The horse as a therapeutic resource in the education of children with visual impairment and deaf blindness” – Fundación Caballo Amigo

The 10th cooperation agreement between Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Fundación Caballo Amigo, from Madrid, to continue supporting the program “The horse as a therapeutic resource in the education of children with visual impairment and deaf blindness”.

8 children benefited from the program; 4 with deaf blindness and other 4 suffering from visual impairment, all of them pupils at Antonio Vicente Mosquete Centre, which is one of the five Educational Resources Centres (ERC) held by ONCE in Spain.
The activity, which included riding sessions and practical lessons on horse care and knowledge of the environment, was held on Monday afternoons at Centro Ecuestre Villafranca, with  the support of the ERC teachers and professionals of Asación al Paso.

Fundación Caballo Amigo works to boost the autonomy of individuals with sensorial impairment in their daily activities and personal care, to improve their life quality; a goal shared by Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre, that has favoured the cooperation between both entities throughout all these years.
