Improving Infrastructure – Adapted ramp – AFTEC (Association for the Promotion of Equestrian Therapies in Canary Islands)
The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport and the Association for the Promotion of equestrian therapies in Canary Islands (AFTEC) formalized their first collaboration through the signing of an agreement between the two entities, whose purpose was to facilitate the access to horse to their therapy users.
Until last March 2016, AFTEC did not have the facility for disabled users to ride on the horse through a ramp, assuming a detriment not only physically but also in terms of effectiveness of their therapies. With this ramp, approximately 285 users can now enjoy the benefits of their assisted interventions with horses.
Through this new colaboration, the Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sport helps that people with physical, mental or sensory disability can perform assisted interventions with horses more safely and efficiently, while at the same time represents an impulse of these therapies because increases the number of beneficiaries who can access to them.
