INFANTA DOÑA ELENA THERAPEUTIC RIDING AWARDS FOR THE HISPANIC AMERICAN COMMUNITY

 

The Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sports / Fundación Para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre was born in 2005 and from the beginning, H.R.H.Infanta Doña Elena has participated in the Board meetings and has been involved in many of the frecuent activities supported and conducted by the Foundation.

Since 2015, H.R.H. is Honorary President of the Foundation.

Fundación Para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre is a private institution, whose goals are:

  • To contribute to the dissemination, promotion and development of all varieties and disciplines of equestrian sports; their historic, educational, economic and cultural values,and, in general, to foster any activity that will increase general knowledge and love for the equestrian art.
  • To protect and encourage horse breeding and its related activities, like sponsoring and supporting research programs.
  • To support and foster initiation and perfection in equestrian sports.
  • To give education and professional training in equestrian related fields.
  • To coordinate and provide resources to purchase horses, equipment or the grounds to enable riding practice, from initiation activities to the most demanding riding contests, ensuring that a limited budget doesn’t become a barrier for the development of horsemen and women at any level.
  • To facilitate persons with special needs the practice of equestrian sports, as a means for their social integration.

In 2019, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees decided to call the Infanta Doña Elena Therapeutic Riding Awards for the Hispanic American Community. This important Award is intended to highlight and aknowledge the work of individuals, institutions or groups that conduct, organice or promote in any way therapeutic riding activities in any of the Hispanic American countries.

The Award is presented during our Annual Merits Recognition Gala Night, held in November at the Royal Theatre in Madrid.

Fundación Para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre made public the call for Infanta Doña Elena Therapeutic Riding Awards for the Hispanic American Community 2019, which will be ruled by the following regulations, approved by the Board of Trustees.

REGULATIONS OF THE 2019 CALL

Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre calls the 2019 INFANTA DOÑA ELENA THERAPEUTIC RIDING AWARDS FOR THE HISPANIC AMERICAN COMMUNITY.

This Award gives recognition to persons or institutions for their outstanding work and merits on therapeutic riding issues. The impact of this work should be considered to a broad extent, understanding that its contributions are well known within the community where it is conducted.

Applicants participating in the call accept its Terms and Conditions.

CATEGORIES

There is only one category in the INFANTA DOÑA ELENA THERAPEUTIC RIDING AWARDS FOR THE HISPANIC AMERICAN COMMUNITY 2019,for therapeutic riding projects at any scale, run on a permanent basis, that bring significant benefits to persons with sensory, physical or psychological diversity within a target group.

ELIGIBILITIY CRITERIA

ELIGIBILITIY CRITERIA

Candidacies: Individuals, institutions or any type of legal entities who conduct, organice or promote in any way therapeutic riding activities in any of the Hispanic American countries are wellcome to stand for candidacy.

 

Will not be accepted as candidates:

  • Projects already finished, over a two-year period.
  • Individuals, institutions or other legal entities involved in criminal trials or legal proceedings that may bring their honorability to question.

It is forFPDEto decide on the compliance with the requirements. Only the candidacies that fully meet all the requirements will be considered.

 

Deadlines and application submission

Candidacies can be proposed by submitting the application form to:

Submission deadline is July 31st, 2019 (23:59 hours,Spanish time, GMT+1).

Applications may include documents, reports, bibliography, audiovisual supported materials, up to no extension limit, in order to confirm the merits of the candidacy.

Letters of support and back up testimonies may also be included.The deadline for the presentation of support letters and back up testimonies is set 15 calendar days after submissions deadline.

Fundación Para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre will not correspond about or return the documentation presented with the applications.

 

CRITERIA TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION

The Jury will particularly assess:

  • The candidate’s Curriculum Vitae.
  • A detailed report on the work or program developed.
  • Confirmed results and impact obtained.
  • Social relevance of the work or project conducted.
  • Synergies with other persons or institutions.
  • Awarded Individuals or institutions should attend the recognition ceremony to receive the award in person. They will be expected to take on the commitment to:
    • Provide illustrated material (and the rights to disseminate it), to be used in the communication of the jury’s decision and the award ceremony.
    • Participate in interviews and activities scheduled for the day of the ceremony.

Should the winner fail to fulfill these commitments, the Foundation is free to revoke the nomination, in which case the award would fall on the next acting finalist.

 

REQUISITES

To fulfill the requirements of the Spanish Law to Prevent Money Laundering and Terrorism Funding (Art. 2 of the Law 10/2010,April 18th, and its Regulations RD 304/2014), winners will be requested to submit to Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre their legalidentification documents, and in the case of institutions, the identification of their legal owner, legal holder or representative:

  • ID or Passport of the person signing the Certificate of Donation.
  • Copy of the Bill of Constitution of the legal entity/association and a statement of the legal holder (The legal ownersor holders, or the members of the Board).

Copy of the Bill of Representation, or similar document, that enables the representative of the awarded institution to accept the endowment and sign the donation certificate in its name.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUESTED TO APPLY FOR THE AWARD:

  • Information Report on the project or activity conducted, and Curriculum Vitae of the professional or legal entity standing for the award.
  • Information about the institution, or in the case of natural persons, the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae, providing relevant and supplementary information, up to no limit of extension, to back up the candidacy.
  • Up to their own criteria, applicants can provideadditional information such as Annual Reports, reports on activities, publications, etc.
  • Copy of the candidate’s ID or passport, or of Tax Identification Code or similar document of the Institution applying for the Award. The disbursement of the Award is subject to Spanish Tax Laws.

Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre guarantees confidentiality regarding the candidacies and projects presented, and will fully meet all legal requirements regarding the protection of personal data.

Applications and documents submitted and not awarded will be destroyed one month after the public presentation of the decision of the Jury.

DECISION OF THE JURY

The Jury will make its decision during the second fortnight in September 2019.Jury’s decision will becomefirmduring the Board of Trustees’ meeting in October.

AWARD PRESENTATION

The INFANTA DOÑA ELENA THERAPEUTIC RIDING AWARDS FOR THE HISPANIC AMERICAN COMMUNITY 2019 Award Ceremony will be held in Madrid, (Spain),in November, during the Foundation’s Annual Gala Night.

The Foundation will take care of the winners’transportation and accommodation expenses: travelling from and returning to their countries, and during their stay in Madrid to attend the ceremony and receive the Award.

The Awardee, on accepting the Prize, is committed to participate in all activities and events organized by the Foundationwhile visiting Madrid for the Award ceremony.

Should the Awardee be a group or an association, its member of the highest rank should attend ceremony and collect the Award.

The Award Winner should be present at the Annual Gala Ceremony to collect the Award, or will only receive the Certification Diploma.

ENDOWMENT

INFANTA DOÑA ELENA THERAPEUTIC RIDING AWARDS FOR THE HISPANIC AMERICAN COMMUNITY 2019 is endowed with:

  • Bronze Sculpture representing the Horse from Numantia (symbol of our Foundation).
  • Diploma
  • Badge
  • 6.000€ endowment, to spend on the project (on equipment, on the construction or improvement of riding facilities, or on education and training).
JURY

COMPOSITION

  • The Board of Trustees willname the members of the Jury.
  • The president of the jury will be elected among its members at the moment that it is formed. The Secretary, who has a voice and a vote, will be previously appointed by Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre.
  • The President organizes and leads the deliberations and voting. The secretary ensures that the regulations are respected.
  • The Jury should attend and participate in the voting and in all deliberative meetings, form the first rounds to the final voting.
  • The Jury should always show fairness, impartiality and rigor.
  • The vote is personal and cannot be delegated.
  • The Jury has the capacity to:
    • Take any steps that seem convenient to confirm applicant information.
    • To declared the award void, when applicants don’t meet the standards or qualification criteria established for the call.
    • To revoke the nomination as finalist/winnerand to designate acting finalists in case the nominated finalist was unable to attend the Award Ceremony. The decisions of the Jury are not subject to appeal.

 

DELIBERATIONS

The list of applicants to INFANTA DOÑA ELENA THERAPEUTIC RIDING AWARDS FOR THE HISPANIC AMERICAN COMMUNITY 2019and the deliberations of the Jury will be kept secret.

Once submitted, the applications will not be modified in any way.

Votes should be cast in a positive sense, promoting the election of the favorite candidates to the majority from the first round to the final election.

Only one candidacy can receive the award, and by majority. The President will have a quality vote in the case of a draw.

The winner and acting finalists will receive notice in next days following the Jury’s decision.

 This submission form is mandatory and simply states the prior interest of the entity to present for the Annual prize.

It must be sent previously to the final project.

This form must be submitted before June 30, and does not involve delivery of the final project, whose deadline for submission is until July 31.
