2018 has been the 8th consecutive year that Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre supports the Equestrian Therapy Projects developed by Asociación Equitación como Terapia, from Madrid.

 
This year the project involved organization of the II Basic Training Course for new volunteer-assistants.
The course was held on Saturday, September 15th at Hípica Montenegro, where 8 trainees worked as assistants on the equine rehabilitation of members with functional diversity. Arranged into groups, the could rotate through the different tasks: horse care and grooming, getting the riding equipment ready; assisting in the equine therapy sessions with 8 children for three hours, muscle training drill on the rope, and riding exercises to experience the benefits of the horse’s movements.

 
Conscious of the importance of introducing new professional profiles and new assistants in the field of horse assisted therapies, Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestrepromotes training courses as the necessary seed for the development of expertise networks of Horse Assisted Therapies well-trained professionals.
