Jumping Clinic delivered by Luis Alvarez Cervera

The Foundation to Promote Equestrian Sports, in collaboration with the Horse-Riding Federation of the Balearic Islands, on 15th, 16th and 17th October sponsored the II Clinic on Obstacle Jumping, delivered by Olympic rider Luis Álvarez Cervera in Palma de Mallorca during 2010.
In this second edition, the venue for the event was the Horse-Riding Club “La Gubia”, where 25 attendants took the course, divided into 5 groups of 5 horsemen and horsewomen each.

The age and level of attendants, as well as their prior experience, determined the creation of different work groups, holding sessions in morning and afternoon hours.
The essential work was mainly focused on improving the rider’s position, in such a way as to be able to properly apply the aids in the various situations arising during the competition.

Additionally, they worked in laboratories and jumping lines, with different outlines and combinations, insisting on keeping an even galloping pace and an accurate and correct action to efficiently face any encountered difficulties.
By organizing these Clinics, the Foundation to Promote Equestrian Sports continues to promote the training and development of the new generations within the field of horse-riding.
