“Expert on the Bases of Animal Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation” – University Complutense of Madrid

Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Complutense University of Madrid Veterinary School have signed their 6th agreement in order to cooperate in the 5th edition of their Degree “Expert on the Bases of Animal Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation”.

The full training program is two years, with a total of 500 training hours. This class began in October 2016 and finished in October 2017 their first education year, and during their second year will continue their education with the speciality of “Expert on Equine Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation”.16265729_1167683536680874_9213877914537174010_n

17 students enrolled in this edition of the program, all of them vets from different points of Spain and abroad (Portugal, Belgium, Italy and Costa Rica).

The faculty is composed of 30 experts, among which are veterinarians specialised in the different subjects addresses in the course, physiotherapists, doctors, psychologists, farriers, etc.2

Subjects cover all issues relevant in the development and practise of this veterinary area, such as: Functional Anatomy, Biomechanics, Functional Neurology, Locomotive Physiology, Lameness Diagnosis, Traumatology, Physiotherapy of Tissue Regeneration and Regenerative Medicine, Behaviour, Physiotherapeutic Assessment, Manual Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physiology of Exercise and Training, Image Based Diagnosis, Veterinarian Osteopathy, Chiropractic , and alternative medicine techniques such as acupuncture, among others.

The course also offers practical training, 50% of total teaching hours, at Hospital Clinico Veterinario Complutense.SONY DSC
