Equine-Assisted Therapies – Fundación Carriegos

Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre and Fundación Carriegos, from León, agree on their twelfth consecutive collaboration agreement for the Equine-Assisted Therapies program carried out by this Foundation.

A group of 10 users with intellectual disabilities (mild, moderate and severe) between 6 and 26 years of age have been awarded with a grant of Equine-Assisted Therapy sessions.
The project was carried out during the months of February to December 2019 with a weekly periodicity, in 45-minute sessions at the facilities of Fundación Carriegos, and with the objectives of psychomotor, sports, cognitive, behavioral, language, communication and emotional improvement. and affective.

 
The Equine-Assisted Interventions are an integral therapy from specific areas of intervention such as physiotherapy, psychology and pedagogy, and a good complement to other therapies but also for the work done in the classroom. In turn, Fundación Carriegos is an example of constancy in equinoterapéutic service.
