The fifth agreement between entre Ekinatur –  Asociación de Terapias Asistidas con Animales, from Teruel,  and Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre, was signed in order to collaborate in the Equine Therapy Program that the association runs for prison inmates going through the process of rehabilitation form drug abuse.

The activity was held at Ekinatur Centre, on October 15^th and November 17^th, for the benefit of 10 inmates that are part of the therapeutic group for drugs and alcohol dishabituation that the Red Cross runs in Teruel. The inmates range from 20 to 60 years of age, and their profiles show chronic drug addiction, mental health issues and broken homes.

The therapeutic objectives were to give positive reinforcement to the advances in rehabilitation, improve empathy and communication free of violence, expression of emotions, control of impulses and initiation in horse riding.

Fundación para la Promoción del Deporte Ecuestre wants to foster Equestrian Therapies in multiple intervention areas, so persons with very different profiles can benefit from them, for example through projects as this one, run by Ekinatur.
